I copied this off the Studebaker Swap Page, I hope it's a joke, if not, bummer......:

    Wanted WANTED Chris Piazza
    cpiazza@sbcglobal.net

WANTED. Someone who can explain to me how a member of our club could steal pieces off the car of another member of our club at Glendale last night. I can only come up with the person responsible is a douche bag.

Dang it. Reminds me of the debacle at Lancaster. At least that crook was caught and tossed out of the club, thanks to Dave Arnold's sharp eye and willingness to man up and stand up for what's right. Hopefully, if true, this scumbag will be caught as well.

I do wonder if it's a hoax, since that's about the worst way to address the issue I could think of

That's low. Just remember: The most ruthless people are the ones who get their joys from taking from others because they feel entitled to do so, not because they "think" need what they take.

A reflection of the sad state of our current society. Poor Rhonda, I hope she can find replacements and has insurance.

I recall N8 and I being worried about parking my show GT Hawk at a intercity hotel in Charlotte the night before we moved to the meet hotel. Lot's of the residents were apparently long term, poor folk, most sitting outside having a beer. One older, big guy told me he'd keep a eye on the car after he raved over it, and sure enough, it was fine in the AM. It just shows you can never be sure where the bad guys are.

When I was working at an major aviation museum, the elevators and cockpit canopy from a (static display) Lancaster bomber were stolen. They were later recovered from another (even larger) museum's flight ready restoration. That museum was not aware of the actions of it's "contributer", but really sad that people resort to that.

Person deserves a lashing from this lady.

Bold, the removal had to have taken a little bit of time.....unscrew? unbolt?
My guess is if they were stolen right off the car...replacements are hard to find.

Hope it was in an area where there was a security camera.

It is really disappointing to think that someone interested in Studebakers would be a thief. Hopefully it was just a criminal type who saw an opportunity. Come to think of it a thief could probably do well stealing rare accessories off of old cars and reselling them. Where better to do that than an old car show?

Sadly, it's one of US (SDC member).
The part is too esoteric to be stolen by anyone else....not like a nice set of wheels or a radio that would go onto just about any car driven by someone who just happened to stop by the cars.

If we really want to play detective...find out what other cars the parts fit and see if one of those cars suddenly starts to sport a pair of wing vents. The club's not that big...it could be done.

Something like this just "gets my goat!" My father always told us to never, ever touch another man's car. I remember waiting for him to come home from work. My brother and I were sitting on a neighbor's running board. Boy, did we get a missive about respecting other people's property, especially their car!!!

Does anyone know if these parts would fit the 40 coupe that was stolen out of Ca? And on the same note I cant believe that noone has found that car yet in this tight knit community. A piece of it MAY have surfaced fairly near Glendale but there was no way to determine for certain. Does anyone have any more info on these optional wing windows?
                              Is there an AC number...
I would love a set of these for my CE.....
I have seen a similar setup on a '39 Lincoln, so I wonder if they were an aftermarket deal.....
                              Just curious...
