I ordered a cruise control (throttle control) in the mid 1970's for my 1961 Lark VI Regal sedan from JC Whitney. It had a box mounted under dash with pull out knob. A cable that ran to the accelerator linkage and a disengage switch that I mounted to the brake pedal. It basically just set the throttle at a constant speed and would not compensate for hills. I learned to just push gas pedal a little going up hills. Since I was running back and forth from Tuscaloosa, AL (where I was attending the University of Alabama) and home in Houston, TX once I got out of hills of Alabama and Mississippi and got onto Interstate 12 and Interstate 10 there were no more hills across LA into Texas. My Lark was also equipped with an underdash 8 track with flush mount speaker boxes on rear window deck and flush mount speakers on kick panels under dash. Another add on option was my underdash CB radio, the antenna had a magnetic mount and was located on the trunk as I didn't want to cut a hole in the trunk. I used to get into a lot of neat conversations about Studebakers on the CB while traveling.
By the way my CB handle was "Alley Opp" 10-4 over and out good buddies.
