          I'm guessing it's in the area of the brake pedal pivot to the master cylinder rod.

                            I think its either a valve guide or a follower.

                            Only other guess I could make is the reverse idler gear shaft for a T86 or T96......

                              It's the "doohickey" that resides in the nose of a Studebaker Automatic (aka DG transmission)

                              If you've forgotten to insert this (it just slips in) before installing your DG tranny into the bellhousing, you've lived to regret it.[V]

                                Gollee ... Thought the "anhydrous dangling pin" was fairly desriptive in and of itself.
