In my search for my very own Studebaker I ran across this dream boat,I think this one really is ready for the Crusher.
Not sure if he placed the piece of trim against the door to show he had it or if it is wedged in there to keep the door shut! However, for as nasty as the car is, the grille is in pretty decent shape.

I rescued a '58 Hawk that was in much worse shape than that about 4 years ago. It had been sitting so long, it had sunk up to the frame into the ground. All the tires were flat, one blew when I pumped it up. All 4 wheels were locked, but I got it winched up onto my rollback with about 200 pounds of dirt. I could see pieces of it flying off when I went down the road. The surprising thing was that all the windows except the windshield were broken out but the headliner looked like it was in a restored car. Go figure...

ALL 1961 Lark Regal and Cruiser models had dual headlights.
ALL 1961 Lark DeLuxe models came standard with single headlights, but the dual headlights were a factory option.
ALL 1961 Cruisers came standard with the 259 V8. The 289 V8 was a factory option on the 1961 Cruiser. I only recall seeing one with a factory 289.

          Exactly! Re-read my previous post!!

The '61 Cruiser I owned was rather plain for that model. It was 259 automatic, bench front seat, (most others I've seen are reclining), and no radio.

Craig - I was agreeing with you, as we usually do agree. The corrections were to the previous statements about all 1961 Cruisers being 289s and a mid-year change from single to dual headlights. Both of those statements are incorrect and what we were correcting.

As the other reader said it was in Minot ND. The car was a $1000.00 but it has been sold. some body needed a new grill I guess.

That 55 looks like it has some pretty valuable trim.
