There were many Stude rods at the recent Good Guys show in DesMoines. Omaha should be loaded with rods. Even if they are modified, we are all driving Studes. Stude. rods get more miles put on them than the originals each and every year. Everyone does the hobby differently---thank goodness....brad

Great enthusiasim, Brad. It IS good to see Studes of any sort on the road. But I'd be willing to bet that my Transtar ("original" style Stude) does as much - if not more than most alternate-powered Studes. It hauls other Studes, loads of lumber, fertilizer, bricks, etc.. It almost NEVER goes on a funsy afternoon cruise nor pulls in under the neon of the local A&W on friday evenings.
There's also a 51 Land Cruiser near me that does 20+ miles every day on it's "original" 232 and automatic - and has done that and more for the 15 years I've known of (and worked on) the car. It's painted purple - if that qualifies it as non-original.
I know of many others - including a 64 Commander that's got several hundred thou miles on it from doing daily duty. 90 miles, round-trip - 259/auto - totally stock.
Further, there's a lot of Studes represented by folks on this forum that drive the pee out of their Studes. Ya gotta have statistical evidence before you try to dis "originals" in a veiled effort to polish your own image.

You've carped on this forum before, about how rods/customs don't get respect here. Maybe a few folks feel like that, but overall, it's pretty tolerant here. There's no call for flicking buggars to make an impression.

Stock, cusstom, trailered, bug-splattered - it's your Stude - do what you want with it, but drop the superiority slant. [:I]

There are indeed some Stude rods in the Omaha area, probably about a dozen or so but all have the small block C...y except one and it is F..d powered. Mine is Stude R-2 powered and I like it that way.It is the 41 Champion on this months Turning wheels front cover.

I honestly don't know. My guess is that the grill is a 30's MoPar product, the body is probably something different, and the bed is probably from a 3rd vehicle. This shop out of Vancouver, BC is quite talanted. The concept, fit and finish was first class. Jimmy Shine like (SoCal Speed Shop). This car debuted at the Seattle Roadster Show this January and always drew a crowd. More pictures of it (including one of the interior) in my link to other pictures of the GoodGuys meet in another thread.

Browsing tonight. That front end is from a 37 Hudson. Look here:

And while on the topic of Hudsons - OH MAN! - this one makes me drool! What a COOL machine!

Man, Dick, that's pretty cool! I especially like the graphic on the door. I'll have to look them up when I'm next in Vancouver.

41 Frank...Hi Frank my wife and I met you at the Good Guys show in DesMoines. My wife was taking many photos of cars, and your car can also be found by using a search engine like Yahoo and going to www.studebu.tripod.com/....and then click on the DesMoines show button. We are the couple that met by chance Rev. Ray from Omaha, on a Mexico cruise from San Francisco, and other Studebaker people in February. On a cruise you can request a classic car meeting, but we just stumbled on Studebaker people at the theatre and while standing in the customs line. The American classic cars and trucks in Mexico still being used are quite interesting.
Has any one seen the movie "CARS" ? My wife and I have seen it twice, once with our grandkids. A really fun movie, and how about that Hudson and "Tow Mater" !!
We will be driving the only Studebaker we own, an original 1960 Studebaker Lark to Omaha, as we continue to look for a '53-'54 to buy. We will see you and Rev. Ray there...Brad

That's pretty radical[]. I especially like the use of the black wire wheels instead of shiney new alloys.
