  • one rare one- a '58 Champion 2dr!

Just when you thought all the '58s had been spoken for, along comes one that you only see once in a blue moon~ on an odd numbered Saturday in July...

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I've been in the Club for as long as I can remember, and this is only about the third one of these I've ever seen. Yes, there is that custom Scotsman in Canada that looks the part, but this one's the real deal!!! Someone save this puppy!!!

Dang, that'd be a fun project! There was a 4-door Champion locally (Seattle) on Craigslist. Went to see it but couldn't get the hood up and the guy wanted too much. Why is it most people who own, but aren't into Studes, overprice them?

I'm getting scared. You guys are sounding like me. It seems that every time I see a beautiful Stude, I fall in love with it. (According to my wife).

Roger, It's gonna happen that way. The trick is tactfully assuring the wife that none of your Studes could replace her.[:X]

No - I DO NOT have designs on this car. Not at all.

But out of curiosity, I wrote the seller and asked a few questions about rust, title & interior. I got 7 nice photos back - better than the ones they're selling it with!
It has a title, rust appears to be minimal and the interior's pretty decent considering. Nice door panels, paint not worn on steering wheel, minor rust in places you'd expect. Floors appear to be solid.
I'll forward his reply to anyone that's interested.

That car would look great beside your 57 Prez. two door. Just do a fire sell on one of those 53's...

It looks to me like the headlight bezels are the plated ones(instead of painted) that use the 7" sealed beams. The "Pods" are what make the 58's so distinctive--they do make more sense visually, after you've had one awhile.
