Well, if you can get past that Earl Schieb Pea Soup Green repaint job, with matching paint on all interior window frames, dash etc. and some other non-original paint color on the dash top and door panels!![xx(][xx(] Then there's the rust dripping out of the front doors, that means rusted out floors, rocker panels, front fenders. Plan on buying 4 new springs as all 4 are shot and probably shocks. You'll have about $5-6,000.00 in it, getting it to look just OK for a driver and dependable. Then it will be worth what JDP quoted ! It's a $500.00 car.
[V][xx(] OHHH, I just noticed it's from OHIO, maybe not worth that much! Other than the above it's a great car!

Hi
I'd say low $500 to high $800. The ghastly color paint likely hides typical northeast rust. Described as not having been started in seven years makes all the mechanicals a big, potentially expensive question.
As was pointed out, a good driver condition sedans are in the $3500 range, so these poor old rundown sedans aren't worth much. The sellers are always disappointed to learn that a fifty year old sedan is so low valued relative to the Hawks and popular brand X cars.
All that said, they are one of the last refuges for those of us with limited means that just want decent reliable relatively cheap fifties Studebaker to drive and enjoy without mortgaging the house!
Good luck with that '57 if the seller comes to his senses and lets it go for a realistic price.

I was just looking at the condition of the pot metal, chrome, dash and interior and to me, they hint at a decent car. I'll defer to the sedan experts, but $500 to $800 just seems low.

My valuation price range comes from watching those cars in similar condition actually sell over the last four years. Good ones go for more but the neglected, somewhat rough examples sell right in that range, usually after some slaps from reality.
As an example, a similar '57 Vice-President in the Cleveland area, sold last September for $810, it was a black & white four door.
For everyone: please have mercy on us cheap guys and don't drive the prices up on these sedans.

I'll stop bidding at a grand even though I think it's worth more. I like to do that in case I get a second chance offer if it does not make reserve.
