The new Lark (60) is the first auto Studebaker that I have owned, is there a way to downshift into 2nd gear for driving in the hills or mountains? Thanks, OkieBob

You can shift it to LOW while under way and unless you're just BARELY creeping, it should only drop back to 2nd gear. Try it once, cruise along in drive at say - 30 MPH. Put the lever in L and see if it doesn't drop back to only 2nd. If you let it REALLY slow down while in "L", it should drop to 1st at just a couple MPH.[:I]
