The lowly '57 Champion sedan...

My brother-in-law dragged this one up from Fresno a few years ago and I finally got around to painting it: http://www.tomnoller.com/Avanti.html
It was originally sold in StudeBob's hometown, and came to me with a stuck engine and since the rebuild & freshened up interior, it's been lots of fun to drive. Amazing what a facelift a new paint job does for head-turning!

Steve - That blue '57 in the background actually started out as a '55. An ugly green 2-door sedan I got when a guy emailed to please come get it from 'Mom's garage' or the crusher will eat it. The front end was mondo rusto, and I happened to have the remnants of a parted out '57 in the garage...and it fit!

Looks great, Tom. You're getting to be quite the Stude collector - your garage looks like a dealers shop.

Not to put you off of your new paint job, but don't be too sure about those Delstar colors per the original paint code. I had some Sheridan Green mixed, per the correct code from PPG's headquarters. It was a nice green, but it wasn't Sheridan Green. The base tints that the paint companies use have changed over time.

I've often thought those colors might look good on 'Baby' (my Commander 2 door)...

In Washington, this plate was used from '54 to at least '57 but needed a small tag to update the year, and cover the original '54. I haven't been able to find a '57 tag due to all the Chebbys of that vintage in our state that use 'em. (So I'm told) At swap meets they're pricey and I'm a cheapo. <G>
