Fell in love with the 53's when in high school. Graduated in '54 and saved enough by middle of '55 to buy a '53 Regal Commander Coupe with OD, ww's, Radio, Heater, And full hubcaps. Loaded for the time and only $800. Went on my honeymoon in it '57 , and we brought our daughter home from the hospital in it '58. She now claims that she doesn't remember that her first ride in a car was in a Stude. Blew the motor up in '59 with not much money and no place to store it, so was sold. Purchased a '53 Starliner 4 years ago. Cost a whole lot more than my first one. Shares garage space with my '33 Chevy street rod. Feels great cruisin' in a Stude again. Sure brings back youth.

Being born in late September, 1960, I can't say I was around in the '50s, not even in the womb yet (that is, if it was a normal 9 month gestation period). But I guess I was maybe around by the very end of the 50's, swimming around with the other spermatazoa in my Dad's family jewels.
