  • What's the scoop on this Hawk?

Is this a "European Spec" car? Is it rare? I don't know much about the Hawks but am anxious to learn as a Hawk will likely be my next Stude.

I doubt it. Looks like the fender top stainless has been fibreglassed/or filled and painted. Painted 1953 tail lights. Painted headlight rims. Fairly major hood repair required.

I'm surprised you guys don't remember this thing from about a year ago on e-bay, when it was summarily picked apart by this group...gotta' be the same car. [}] BP

I was away from the States (at sea) most of last year, but I can easily see this thing being totally picked apart by this group! How many different cars do you think donated parts for this thing? It made me think of that 'Show Hawk' from last week. Ya gotta love the info in both ads, now that I think about it! Such rare cars...

                  From the Newsgroup: http://groups.google.com/group/alt.a...bf1e15a759c603

Or: "This one started out in Georgia a couple years ago and now is in CA. by way of Vancouver.. I think it spent some time in PA, too! Check out the great hood latch... One has to think real hard about a Hawk that has done that much traveling in two years.."

"I looked into this car a couple years ago before buying my 59 Hawk.
This car started life as a six and has been de finned with bondo over the top of the quarters. It really doesn't look like a bad car in the pics, but the number of times it has changed hands and moved around the country in the last two years makes me wonder...I never saw it in person; just talked to one of the previous owners."

My 1960 Hawk was assembled in Switzerland and it looks just like a USA Hawk fins and all. Only thing that I can find different is the speedometer and the Swiss dealers tag on the right door frame. Harry
