  • Round Fender Pick Ups

New here, already learned some. Have wanted a Studebaker pick up for many years and found 2 sitting side by side in a yard rusting. Envision one cherried out and painted metallic midnite blue. Need help with the year/model info. if that is not too much to ask. Appreciated.

      Welcome, Bernard!

Stude pick ups between 1937 and 1964 had roundish fenders. Need a few more clues to pin it down for you. Any pictures?

Thanks for the warm welcome. My guess is somewhere around mid '50s. Although the body style seems to be ahead of its time, noticed that on Hawks too. A trip to Barnes and Noble will be in order now.

A really good place for more truck info is the Stude Truck Talk forum, here: http://www.network54.com/Forum/23885/

At the top of the page is a drop-down menu with pictures of members' trucks. This will help you determine the kind of truck you have been seeing. It could be an M-Series (1941-48), a C-cab type (1949-59 in the under 1 ton models, designations went 2R, 3R, E, Transtar & Scotsman) or finally, a T-cab type (1960-64, may have same bed and rear fender appearance as C-cabs, or the smooth sided wide bed).

Have a look at the photos I mentioned above, and get back to this thread to tell us what you think you've been seeing nearby.

          And welcome!

Thank You! They are 2R5s. That link is a great help. The 38 and 39 are beauties, and the 2R15, so many great trux.
