    StudeRich,

Sure enough, a closer look prompted by your post confirms that its a 63 front panel. The hood doesn't match up right and the only thing holding it down is the hood release, not the latch. When I bought the car I really didn't look too close at some of it, lesson learned. At some point I guess I'm going to have to buy a 61 front panel and swap it out so it fits right.

The car was in Medical Lake, WA and the owner had indeed moved on to a Champ project. He was making a custom rod of some sort out of it. Needless to say, he mentioned nothing about some parts being from a 63. Maybe thats why he was so willing to take half of what he listed it in the paper for[?]

Oh well, it's still a great car and will be better once it's a bit more original.

When you look for a front panel for it, be advised that there are three different ones for 1961 Larks. You want one for either a Cruiser or a non-convertible Regal model. Of course, the rare optional dual headlight optioned Deluxe would also have the correct panel. You could use a convertible panel, but a standard Deluxe model (with single headlights) panel would be incorrect on your Cruiser.

Or go to: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4619879073 (This LINK is to an E-Bay Motors Studebaker car for sale ad. -for those that want to know where they will be taken!)

HEY Rich Pease! If I did this right, you should see a pic of what your car will look like, when you get the "Deep" front panel off and replaced with a "shallow" '61 type one. This Deluxe model has the optional windshield and rear glass mouldings as well as dual headlights like your (Regal type) Cruiser should have.
