Do you like the way I wore my cap sorta cocked back like that? [:0] That's because my head would get beat against the cab roof unless I used the forward part of the cap as a cushion between my head and the headliner![}]
Boss later gave me hell for posin' like that. Said it didn't look "dignified". 'course, if I'd been a little short poop like him, I wouldn't have had to worry about headroom!

BTW, I finally got my brother-in-law, who worked in the parts department, to come up with one of those Lever-Vent seat cushions for that tractor. Made the ride a little bit more tolerable.

Looking at the convertible on the top of the rig brings back memories.
When I was in college, I had a '51 Commander convertible. The only
convertible I ever had. What was I thinking when I gave the car up for something new? Boy, I wish I had that car back.

Perhaps that photo can be recreated live at the next national Studebaker meet? With Mr. Biggs driving the rig, of course.

There was a story in TW about how in the 1930's I believe, if a small rural dealer ordered a couple of new cars, they would actually DRIVE one car and tow the other one behind it.
Imagine your "new" car having that for a break-in.(think Id want the towed one,as long as there wasn't to many rock chips)

When I look at the picture, my first thought is: "I wonder how many of those cars still exist today."
