Driving down old Route 66 in downtown Amarillo yesterday, I spotted a blue Champ pickup in a used car lot. I mentioned it to Dorella and she asked if I wanted to go around the block to check on it, and to my surprise, I said no,[)] and even though we were in no hurry, I continued eastward.[xx(] I am beginning to need a keeper. A few miles later, sanity began to return.
What if he doesn't know what he has?[8)]
What if it is one of those that have been sheltered for years[?]
Even though I don't need it, I'll bet someone else does[]
I wonder how much he wants; does he think it's worth a fortune[?]
    And so on.

Well, tomorrow, we'll drive the 59 hardtop down that street in the Veterans' Day parade, and if it is still there, I must succomb to my addiction ( Know where every Stude in town is and who owns it) and check it out.[] After all, I can't keep practicing this self control forever. I shall let you know what comes of this.[)]

Go for it, Studegib. I'm all for keeping tabs on all the Studebakers in Texas - there are not enough of them in this state as it is!

Well, dang it, the lot was closed with a for sale sign on it that said sold. Guess I'll try to get hold of somebody Monday. The Champ has a paint job that appears to have been applied with a roller, but at least a good roller. It's 60 or 61 short bed with both side windows broken.
The parade was great[)]. Had 2 of my grandkids with me as well as their other grandpa in full dress marine uniform. He was a cpl in WWII, Pacific. It was great to hear the people saying "Look, it's a Studebaker[8)]!" And we were following a 29 Model A and a 28 Chevy pickup.
