Anyone dealt with Turner Auto Wrecking in Fresno, CA?

So far this is the only place where I have been able to find the crossmember for my 51 Champion, and shipping to VA is not going to be cheap, so I'd like to get some feedback.

    Thanks.

How much do they want? I'll see if I can find you one in Pennsylvania.
51 and 52 Champion and Commander use the same crossmember. Different crossmembers were used for standard or automatic.
    part # 529069 with standard
    part # 530136 with automatic
I'm not sure of the difference; probably just location of bolt holes.

Turner's about 30 miles from me. The guy's a thief, pricewise.

Interesting, He quoted me $50 + 25 in shipping. I've only found one other so far for $95 + shipping. If I could find one in PA that wasn't rotted out it would be within a weekend trip for me, I might even get to visit some relatives.

Is Jerry still running the place Bob? I agree with you, he is a tad on the high side. I always liked him personally but he always got full price for his parts.

            Fred,
He was last I knew. I haven't been there in a few years as he was just too ridiculous in price. There was another yard in Fresno that I could count on to have prices one third of Turners.
Sadly, that yard got forced out of business in an underhanded case of emminent domain. This after they'd been there since 1927!

I WILL admit that $50 bucks ain't that bad considering it can be a bit of a pain to get one off of a car. As rockne says, there's a difference between the stick and auto tranny versions, but like he, I think it has to do with the holes for the tranny mount to attach to.

                  cwinston,
No email address in your contact info. Send me an email. If yours is a standard, rather than automatic, I've found a couple right here in central Pa.
Reedsville Swap Meet in November would be good, unless you need it sooner.
