What model Stude is a C or K?

I see this in a lot of ads for parts. eg: "Fits C-K models". What models are these? Is there a "letter code" for a Lark?

C-K usually refers to the 53 to 61 models, with K meaning hardtop and C meaning Coupe. It refers to the body tag letter typically under the hood at the top of the passenger firewall, not to be confused with the Serial number on the Drivers Door post and the Engine Number. The codes are explained for the years in the front of the Shop Manual for your year. Can't remember full details on Larks, but I believe W was a four door sedan.There are many other letters used to identify the models.

C/K are the original Lowey coupe,starting in 1953 with the Star Light(pillared coupe) and the Starliner(Hardtop).These became the Speedster in 55,and the Hawks in 56,then GT's in 62

I appreciate your participation here and your interest in Studebakers and I usually get critized for making corrections, but for the sake of newcomers, like tstclr asking the question, I feel compelled to make a few corrections to your quoted post.

2) Starlight
3) The Speedster is a K body, but only one model of C/K in 1955.

Transtar 56's explanation was a little blurry... tstclr,you should tell us what your car is,and Studegary or someone can tell you what letter code represents your body style. Very few c-k parts interchange with Lark parts,if thats what you are thinking.

My Lark is a 63 "Regal" 2dr sedan which brings me to another question. What differenciates the Regal from the base Lark? I see alot of the Larks refered to as "63V" or "63S" etc depending on the engine. Is this proper "Studicate" when refering to our cars?

"Regal" designates that the car was factory equipped with the stainless/chrome trim package.

the "V" in the model designates that the car was factory equipped with a V-8 engine the "S" designates the the car was factory equipped with a 6-cyl. engine

Your 63 Lark Regal 2-dr would be interpreted as a 63V-F4 car (Making the assumption it's a V8 car.) If it was a 6cyl car, it would read 63S-F4

She's a 6 for now.. I'm really looking forward to working on her.
Right now she is under a tarp in the backyard. I have a restored Triumph Spitfire taking up the garage parking space that I am trying to sell. Anyone? [] I've had a number of people see the Lark and comment on how "cool" it is. Someone asked me if I wanted to sell it! I've found this forum to be excellent. I appreciate all the help from you guys!
