1938 studebaker club sedan

H, I am new to this site and have a 38 studebaker club sedan. I have not been able to find very many of these cars during internet searches. Mine has been sacrificed for a hot rod but the body is mainly original with the exception of some custom tail and headlights. I anm in the progress of redoing the earlier work and have found the orginal headlight pots, but have never seen any tail light assemblies listed anywhere. The other piece of info I am looking for is a picture that shows how the running boards meet the front and rear fenders as I have a gap now in mine and don't know if it is normal. Any help appreciated.

You really need to contact the Antique Studebaker group. I am not very aquinted with them and don't know the address.[:I] Maybe someone else can point you in the right direction for that. This group is largely post-war studes. Still there are a few posters that know all and see all Studebaker...

Oh almost forgot, welcome to the club (or at least the forum). Have you joined the Studebaker drivers club? There is a really great mag. called Turning Wheels that comes with the membership. Well worth the membership fee.

Oh yes, one more thing... how about a picture of your baby? I think I can speak for everyone here that we would love to see what your Club Sedan looks like.

What a pretty body style.
That has the makings for a handsome Stude cruizing machine...
(after you fix some of the wierdness, that is)

For your tail lights... If you are looking for the pod style lights that are like the ones used on the '37 Dictators, hold on to your hat. The last pair that were sold on Ebay went for $700 a pair. I have seen some for around $250 that needed work.

You might try contacting Bob Kapteyn at Joliet Studebaker for parts for this rig. He specializes in pre-war Stude stuff and is a real pleasure to do business with.

the 38 uses a different tail lamp than the 37 both years seem to be alone. the studebaker part # for your car is 266910 p for right side and 266911p for the left. a few years ago I found one for my 37 at Hershey for $ 5.00 !!He said he did not know what it fit. I did !! thay are out there. it only took me 30 years .
