Hi All: A question for those of you in the know: Several months ago (maybe a year now...time flies) the South Bend Schools Corporation announced plans to possibly relocate out of the old Studebaker Administration Building, which is costing them a fortune to maintain and heat. Have they moved? Have they made any further announcements? What's to become of the building?
Several years ago now a few friends of mine joined me in touring South Bend and the old Studebaker Corridor. We also went to the A-C-D Museum in Auburn, Indiana...which utilizes the old Auburn plant and administrative building for a museum. We all mused aloud how cool it would be if the SDC could do something similar with the old Studebaker Administration Building. Something much better has since happened of course with the design and building of our modern, world-class museum, but I am concerned that the old Administration Building is going to meet a fate similar to that of the rest of the old Studebaker complex. Any other news?
