  • Truck horn button?

My 55 truck came with a "blank" black horn button. There is a chrome ring surrounding the area the button fits into. Since there is some chrome nearby, I wonder if this button had a face that fell off, or was removed. Does anyone know what the original horn button looked like on a 1955 1/2 ton truck? Was this one still being used: http://www.studebakerparts.com/stude...ges/682578.jpg

    Thanks,
    Paul

Fact is - some models of 55 & 56 trucks used only the plain black button like you have. There was no overlay like you put up a picture of.

    Miscreant at large.

Thank you, Mr. Biggs. That sounds like my situation. The "finish" of that button is a weathered flat black by now, so I may buy one of those attractive buttons from studebakerparts.com to replace it with (saving my old one original for posterity, of course).
