  • Old junkyard shots

I scanned a few pictures from one of my favorite old haunts. This was about 10 acres deep in the Michigan woods. The property changed hands around 1998 and everything here was crushed up. Not the greatest loss, as rust had taken most everything. But there were still good stainless and and few other things.
Mostly a lot of dead Buicks. Besides the Stude pictures here I remember a White Lark wagon that I never photographed. There were a few Packards too, the ones where the door handles are part of the window trim. One yank and they would come off in your hand.
I did rescue a few parts off this one:

Check out the rust on the Nash, the whole left quarter is almost dissolved! Not sure what the black car with the long rear doors was.

Bona-fide hudson 6 convertible. Wasn't a single good part left on it.

Another rare ragtop. This yard was full of converts.

Why i didn't keep these panels I'll never know.

They are great shots. I love old junk yard photos. I will add some that I took between 12-15 years ago from 3 different junk yards that are all gone now.

a little while ago i found a place on the internet that was selling home videos of the studebaker graveyard, where the prototypes were supposed to of been hidden, it was thirty bucks and i thought my dad would like to see it, so i ordered it and the video was of those cars. the video was taken a little later and most of the cars were destroyed when he made it. The wagon you were talking about was apparently something special, fiberglass or something and was taken out to be restored.

That was a different junk yard. That wagon is being restored at the Studebaker Museum, I believe. It was a 47 Champion, I think. That junk yard was pictured in Special Interest Autos, and I tried to find my copy, but I couldn't. While looking, though, I found this article about a guy whose wife had his whole Studebaker collection hauled away.

Cool Leonard, another junker 52 hardtop I can add to the registry. To bad the serial number will never be known.
As for Mr Reynolds here, that is brutal. I would be very tempted to go postal on the county board.

What a shame! I would have loved to get my hands on that 52!

Hey Dan, how are you doing on your 52? I started mine for the first time last weekend, but I didn't let it run because I don't have a water pump. I am going to get one at York this weekend.

What engine are you going to put in yours?
