Wow! What an incredible writeup. This car is a bargain especially considering the tremendous amount of work you have done (makes me feel guilty). You must be offering it for a fraction of what you have in it.

Based on a 55 I had I would guess that it only sticks in park when the front wheels are bumped sgainst the curb. Jack up the rear axle watch the torque leave the drive train (impressive wheel spin) and you are good to go. If you take the jack out first.

I think it was a design problem in the DG-250. I have heard that when it is stuck in Park, the pawl can be broken off very easily (something you don't want to happen). One time the Park stuck on my DG200 ('53 Commander) when I was parked on a fairly steep driveway. I was told not to try to force it out of Park so I took my truck, came up behind it and gently pushed to take the strain off the pawl. That got it out OK, but I don't remember what I did next (probably had the wife in the car holding the brake.

Aw man, why do I look at these threads. If I was still working full time (and didn't have to feed those pesky kids, ha ha) I'd be all over that. That is one beautiful car. There is a guy in my neigborhood with a yellow/white vehicle like yours that I drool on whenever I see it... anyway good luck with the sale.

A proven cross country driver at a very reasonable price. Shouldn't last long at that price. I know i'd never let my 55 Conestoga go for that. If someone needs a driver you better move quick.
