  • Truck Bumpers on T-Cabs.

What are people doing for a rear bumper on the Dodge type beds. I just put up a front bumper at the back but it doesn't look right. Too much curve in it. Would like to see what others have done. Pics. please.

I have an after market truck bumper from JC Whitney, fits up nice and looks like it is made for the 63 T-cab long bed. e-mail me, jeaned@lakedalelink.net and I will send you a photo.

All pics courtesy of eBay ads. None of these trucks is, or ever has been, mine.

Square-formed diamond plate is your best bet all around, IMHO; painted or chromed to match front bumper. Does everything it's supposed to do and looks exactly like it's supposed to look.

Whatever else you choose, it's obvious the only allowable body paint color is red .

JGK. I had one like the top and bottom ones. I call them Camper step bumpers. Heavy and in the way for a trailer hitch. Probably make my own out of tubing. But wanted to see what looked good on others rides.

Look for pictures of the 1960 and older Dodge pickups with that box. I'm curious what they used.

This link shows a pic of a 1960 Dodge rear bumper.

If you can find a nice one, the standard (P1 bed) pickup rear bumper fits just nicely. I have one on my 64 long bed champ. It doesn't stick out past the bed sides, or attach to the bed, so it won't get snatched off, or cause damage to the bed sides if you bump it on something.

There was a couple of ads in the March Turning Wheels for a fellow selling these NOS bumpers.

I took off the large step bumper (like the pictures) and without the weight, it rides like a TRUCK. Had to put it back on or be beat up.
