Another 53 custom. According to the article, the grill was totally fabricated from steel bar stock. The doors have electric solenoids to replace the door handles...pretty hightech for the day. The car's original front end was in an accident, hence the custom reconstruction. Looks like superb workmanship, but still wonder why bother...the 53 Studebaker grill looks like it was a custom job right out of the factory, and it's a pretty tough job to improve it beyond removing the script. Kinda looks like some 'code N' jumped on a 53 at the factory. Thought maybe Stude backup lights were used as signal lights but the text said they're Chevy park lights. Junior

I would like the grill better if it stopped short of the headlights.

Gary53, I have to agree with you on the grille comment. It looks a little like a Studebaker from the Soviet Union. However, it does have the blessing of mother church. (no criticism intended, just my gut reaction a la Gibbs on NCIS)

I never figured I'd see that car again. I got my '53 three years later, never got around to building it like that but always admired the look.

Thanks for bringing it back. I guess I was wrong in remembering the source of the grill.

I would like the gril better if she had longer hair.
