              Do you think the engine was swapped out? I am under the impression you couldn't get a 3/4 ton without the big six. I love my small six truck but think it is pretty well challenged with the 1/2 ton chassis already.

                Do you think the engine was swapped out? I am under the impression you couldn't get a 3/4 ton without the big six. I love my small six truck but think it is pretty well challenged with the 1/2 ton chassis already.

                I thought that 3/4 ton was only small six in 1949-1950, with the big six optional starting in 1951.
                Someone else can look it up or a truck expert can correct me if I remembered this incorrectly.

                  My memory and research is the same as yours Gary... the model 10 (3/4 ton with small flathead 6) was made right up to 1958 (excluding 1957) and was the sole engine in 3/4 ton trucks until 1951 when the model 11 with the "Commander" six was introduced. In fact, you could even get a model 15 (1 ton with the small 6) until 1954.
