Andy I agree with you but I'm not too sorry about it. The MGA and the 356 Porsche would both be a blast to drive and be more than welcome in my driveway. I would also like one of the Mercedes sedans, a Lark convertible and the Lark wagon, please.
I think that finishes up my order.

I don't know, those Larks and Mercedes look pretty much the same to me. I'd take either, even though a Lark would be easier to maintain.

That giant overhead SIGN, has Bob's name (bams50) all over it! [^]

That '61 Hardtop is NEW, still got the window sticker. Someone better hurry, it's a leftover and they WILL deal! [:0]

And imagine it in color! Remember the technicolor advertising for the '62s, with each letter of LARK in a different hue!

During the early Lark years, the name Studebaker was played down and Lark was emphasized. Remember that the Lark saved Studebaker. The dealer in Beacon NY had a large, double faced, back illuminated "LARK" sign on the roof. The only Studebaker sign that they had was their old, 42" round, non-illuminated, "Studebaker Authorized Service" sign. I removed both of those signs when they went to strictly Dodge. I no longer have either sign.

Ah yes, Keenan Motors on North Broad St. In Philly. What I remember about the place was going there as a 19 year old college kid with a buddy in the spring of '62 to check out the new Avanti in the showroom. We were sitting in the car ogling everything when a salesman with a snotty attitude ordered us out of the car. But I'm not one to hold a grudge even if I do have a long memory. [}] They were beginning to focus on M-B even then and remain a M-B dealer in suburban Doylestown, PA which is a far cry from their old location in North Philly.

Awesome picture!! It's interesting to look at the big city dealerships, rather than the small town ones, especially the used cars!!

I'll bet that place looked awesome at night with all those incandescent lights spinnin' the power meter 'round. I would give part of my anatomy to have that signage right now... LH
