My four year old daughter informed me this past summer that the 62 Lark hardtop that I have been tinkering on for the last two decades or so is now hers so I have twelve years to get it in better than running shape.

it also may be the only car in the High school parking lot with a manual transmission come 2021.

Hmmm, that's three '62 Larks and counting that have caught tykes' fancy. I sense a sharp rise in the valuation for '62 Larks in about a dozen years' time...

Finally got my son interested in Studebakers. He is now hooked like his dad. We both got second place plaques in our respective categories at the Zone meet in Sacramento last May. It doesn't get any better than that.

The grandkids love their Studebaker and tell all their little freinds in school and day care about it. [^]

I should have it at the swap meet in May..I think that will be doable..if not I'm doing something wrong...again.. Also this thread has brought out some great stories of our cars and the families involved with them..Warms your heart!!

Ahhh...another '62 2dr post, and blue to boot! Love it.

I already intend to attend the '12 International in SB...hope to see and lens this beauty then...if not sooner. (Could it be on the go by the time of the Michiana swap meet this coming May...?)

The trans-generational stories are great, too. My nephew was 5 when he first rode shotgun around the block in my Lark; he's not especially into cars, but hey, he did request the ride!

StudeKen (on this forum) has a metallic blue 62 2-door as well.

Prager, you're a prince - and you know why! And a cool dad too. Keep up the good work on kid and kar.[^]

When my grandaughter,Ashton Was 5 and in kindergarten, the class was divided into groups. Ashton's group was supposed to be coloring while another group was looking at flash cards. The teacher held up a picture of a VW and asked if anyone knew what kind of car it was.
Ashton shouted across the room"IT's a STUDEBAKER!"
Of course She got in trouble. When her Mom came to pick her up the teacher told on her for being disruptive, then asked "How does a 5 year old know what a Studebaker is anyhow?" Mom just laughed and said "You just gotta know her Grandpa" NT
