custom steering wheel for 55 coupe help

recently while transporting my unfinished 55 President some kids broke into it, and among other things stole my loose steering wheel.(Half restored). Since the car is not stock, we are looking at putting an aftermarket wheel in it. does anyone know where we can get an adapter, or are we S.O.L.

You probably have a 13/16" 36 spline, but you had better measure it to be sure. There were Studebaker adapters by Grant, but they are hard to find now for the earlier cars. Chevrolet with power steering in the late 50's through the late 60's use the same adapter all except for the chrome ring that finishes the column at the shifter. Just use your old one or modify the Chev. unit.
