I wonder how many of these were made? Couldn't have been many.

This would make a nice project for someone. He says in the ad it is solid.

I REALLY like these 42 Commander sedans! Don't know why, but they turn my crank![]

      1957 Transtar 1/2ton
      1963 Cruiser
      1960 Larkvertible V8
      1958 Provincial wagon
      1953 Commander coupe
      1957 President two door

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

My Granddaddy bought a new 42 Studebaker Commander, but I don't know how they sold.

My uncle and my grandmother by the car.

Looks restoreable but will cost a lot for that chrome.

About 10 years and $50,000 later it could look similar to this, though this one a Sedan Coupe.

I put a flyer bid on it. We'll see if anything happens. At least it's something I can drive to and back over a weekend.

Better yet Mr. Retired, check out the July/August 2009 issue of Antique Studebaker Review wherein you can not only see the total production but also the production by body style. The only place this information has ever been published! In fact you will also find production figures by body style for all 1938 thru 1942 Studebaker Commanders and Presidents.

Stephen Cade has a gorgeous '42 President Skyway Sedan Coupe. Wish I had a picture to post of it.
