They are T/A wheels. The wheels currently on the Avanti are IROC Style wheels that were probably purchased on ebay, 17 inch. No fitment issues that I can see.
There are no factory 17 inch IROC wheels, all IROC wheels are 16", if
you have 17s they are knock offs. Camaro and Firebird use the same
chassis, the offsets are the same, if it fits a T/A or Firebird then
it fits a Camaro. The Avanti uses a Monte Carlo chassis, which is not
the same as the F-body. If your IROC wheels are 17" aftermarket, they
might be a different offset to fit the Monte, they also make then to
fit the 5 on 5 Impala SS bolt circle, where as the Monte and F-body is
    a 5 on 4-3/4.

Found some IROC Camaro wheel pics. The following info is borrowed from http://www.tacreationsusa.com/camaro_wheels.htm
      These are Size : 16" x 8"
      Backspacing Front : 4.75"
      Backspacing Rear : 5.25"
      Bolt pattern : 4.75" from 1988-90

82 - 92 Wheels : Will not fit on 93 and newer vehicles properly. Wheels will stick out approximately 2" past wheel well when installed on a 4th gen. This is due to the difference in backspace. There is no way to correctly install these wheels on a 4th gen.
93 - 02 Wheels : Will not fit 82-92 Firebirds without adapters. The wheels are interchangeable between front and rear axles. The spacers/adapters required for this conversion are approximately 2.125" thick. This is due to the difference in backspace. These wheel adapters are available through www.vettebrakes.com under PN 13770 (standard lugs) & PN 13770M (metric studs), priced at $179.95 pair as of 11/03/03. The adapters will also work on 1st and 2nd gen F-bodies as well.

For what its worth, I think the wheels that Ernie has on the Avanti look good.

Yes I know they are knock offs, I was referring to the mesh wheels I have in the garage as original T/A wheels.

I like the wheels, in fact if I ever decide to raise the status of the car up from a beater I may stay with that style wheel but for now new tires on old wheels is all it gets.
