Would this have been for the market in France or Canada?

Canadian, I would say. The door opening is referenced as "44 pouces", which means '44 inches'. Canada was not on the metric system then, where France always was. A French market ad would most likely be in cm or mm.

Probably for the automotive market in France and/or Belgium or even parts of Africa. In Canada it would have applied only in La Belle Province.

Craig has a point. If the ad was strictly for Quebec measurements in inches at the time would have been correct. Pretty good detecting, Craig!

There's also a reference to 750 million "milles" (miles) instead of "kilometres." Canook fer sure, eh?

Is there an English version of the ad?
Just wondering if (to save money) Studebaker's ad agency just didn't tranlate the ad into French as opposed to designing an entirely new ad just for Quebec.

You may be right, John, since I can clearly remember the English language version of this one (which I can't find right now) saying exactly the same things about The New Lark Hardtop's style ("open, like a convertible, but fully enclosed against the cold during winter") and the fact it seats six! (many thanks again to aldenjewell @ Flickr):

On the other hand, I also recall Studebaker doing more than a little bit of targeted advertising around that time... including this subtly distinctive spot in the January, 1960 issue of Ebony Magazine, courtesy of vieilles annonces @ Flickr:

Just noticed, too: both these ads have the "proven by 750 million miles of owner use" tagline...
