Well the new owners of Matilda decided they wanted to drive the car home. They are taking I-40 back to Dallas. Any members living along the route might catch a glimpse of her going down the road. It should make it without a problem. I gave them a copy of the member roster in case they run into trouble along the way. The new owners are the Ragsdales.

I drove mine (a 60 Lark 2dr) home also, from San Anglo Tx to Tulsa. About an 11 hour drive. 6 cyl no O.D., hope that one had an Overdrive, cause 78 mph is tops, but will run all day doing it.

Well.. I spoke to Laura last night. She and Matilda are about 250 miles from home (Rowlett, Texas). Matilda performed flawlessly and has been averaging 24MPG. Matilda is a 3 speed/overdrive. They didn't push her hard. The whole trip they stayed at 55 or below. She used no oil. I've been fanatical about the oil in that car. Since getting her on the road in February, The first two months, it was changed once a month (500 miles). Then have doing every 1000. I recommeneded that she have it changed after the trip 1500 miles. I'm so glad it performed trouble free for them. When she gets home, she will be joining SDC. So, the Dallas chapter can soon expect to see Laura and Matilda.
