  • 64 GT Hawk in Salvage yard

    Hi:
I found a '64 GT Hawk in a salvage yard here in Southern California (Santa Fe Springs). It needs work but the body is VERY SOLID and the car is almost complete (missing seats and carburetor). If anyone is interested, please email me and I'll provide the name and phone number of the yard.

Out of curiosity, is it an R-car? If so, someone will definitely be interested.

The Pick UR Part Yards do not usually sell the parts cars, only the parts. [xx(] [}]

To Gunslinger: It is not an R-Car, however it has factory disc brakes and I believe it had "factory" A/C. All the under hood components for the A/C are there, however the under dash unit is gone. In case I neglected to mention it in my first post, when I said the carburetor and air cleaner were missing, it HAD a 2 barrel carburetor. Also, I have digital pictures. Please email me if you would like to see them.
It IS in a pick your own parts kind of place, but when I asked if the whole car was for sale, they said it was. Probably will have a salvage title.

If it wasn't all the way across the country, I'd go look at it. I guess it's a good thing it is that far away. Hopefully someone will buy it and bring it back to life and enjoy it like it's meant to.

Good for you. I have a 62 GT 289 4spd. car, complete and running with decent interior but shot underneath. Some day I'll find a solid GT body to combine with it. Just has to be in the East coast area

Looks like you have a fairly serious road trip ahead of you Roy!

You should haul something down there to the L.A. area while you are deadheading down. [^]

Some of these Pick-a-Part yards DO sell whole cars. What they'll do is, if they think it has sell potential - I've seen Studes, Packards, Jags and less notable vehicles so offered - they'll put it in a special area where no parts can be taken. If it doesn't sell after a time, then it get's set out for parts taking. Probably, in the case of this Hawk, those missing parts were gone when they got the car.[^]

Rich, I did not even think about that. I will post empty trailer heading to LA,Ca from Sacramento,Ca. Also, It is missing 2 rims. Can I use 1951 Rim for the back. The salvage yard stated that they would give me two. But what interchanges with this car. Please advise. Roy

I learned about a 64 GT Hawk R1 4spd today. Been sitting since the 70s. Son of original owners has it and wants to sell it. I heard a $3500 asking price. I'm counter-offering less. We'll see.

5 bolt ford car rims and I found that they even interchange with the wheels on my 1957 International 1/2 ton pickup.
