  • Lark on National Public Radio

We were driving home from "Summer vacation" I know, it's mid October. Anyway, we turned on the radio. It's fund raising time,on NPR, and Click and Clack, The Tappet Brothers had just ended their auto repair show. They must have discussed a Studebaker Lark, for the local station, in mid-Michigan, was talking about it. It sure grabbed my attention. A guy called in to make a pledge and said he once owned a Lark. I called in and announced that I own a '63 Lark. They were impressed and made me President! Of what, I don't think they said. Anybody hear any of this Stude talk, last weekend? Gosh, we donate a little to two Detroit area stations and now this one got us too. Peace, huck

I did not hear the show you mentioned, but seem to recall hearing it in the past. Car Talk produces two or three special shows a year that are intended to be used during fund raising week(s) on NPR stations. They are often made up of some of the best old listener calls interspersed with fund-raising messages -- so some of the calls may sound familiar. Since not all stations do their fund raising at exactly the same time, that particular show may not have been broadcast everywhere the same weekend.

Thanks for the info Skip. Ha, I couldn't think of the name "Car Talk". I should go to their web site and ask about that Stude. Stay tuned. Huck
