Recently came across a book titled "Wings over the Alaska Highway". It is a history of all the small airfields that were built along the Alaska Highway as it was being built during WW2. The underlying story is of the highway itself and there are several photos of Studebaker US6's hauling supplies along the highway. The most interesting photo is of a DC3 being loaded with cargo, including a completely disassembled M series pickup.
