  • Studebaker Int. buys Sasco parts from TCU

I just read Ed Reynolds letter to the forum making it official that he has purchased the SASCO parts and will move them to the AM General building in South Bend. One of our SDC regional managers sent this to me so I'm confident of the facts.
I don't know why Ed's letter hasn't appeared on the forum.

Never mind can't find the letter, this is Wonderful News. I know, it was expected but it's still great to know.

I'm sure Ed will put the effort into inventorying whats there and letting us know what we can expect to find.

Ed, If you see this, Thanks from all of us.

Not to doubt what you are reporting Jim, but I would love to see the letter. It is indeed good news, something that we all hoped for and many even suspected. Now let me see where did I put that list of stuff I need.........

I'm still looking forward to seeing the letter from Ed to confirm that the facts are correct. As for dealing with his company, Stude-Intl., I've been very satisfied. I've ordered off of his website with no issues and I purchased parts in person at the Cedar Rapids meet where I met him and his wife for the first time (she ran the register and seemed very nice).
Its nice to have a vast selection of vendors to deal with in order to shop around for the best deals, but maybe one larger vendor will be able to offer better deals (like Wal-Mart?). I wish them good luck (buying all of those parts is a huge expense to recover) and am happy they are making the effort to keep us supplied with new parts. I would also like to extend my appreciation to all of the Studebaker vendors for the parts availability. Good job folks!

I received Mr. Reynolds's letter via e-mail from a third party yesterday and although I have no doubts as to its authenticity I believe Mr. Reynolds will release its contents himself here. And that is the way it should be. It contained information that only Mr. Reynolds would know that is why I believe it is authentic.

Like most Stude owners, I've ordered parts from SASCO.
                          Never any problems.
The one time I (actually oldtrknut who's doing the work on my car) didn't like a part, SASCO cherfully exchanged it for a better looking piece.

Let's face it...how many guys (or firms) would be willing to spend big money for parts that will sell slowly over time? Not many is my guess.

I'm happy with the way it (seems to have) worked out.

While I'm waiting to see Ed's letter and/or e-mail, it sounds like terrific news to hear that he's purchased the SASCO inventory.
We in this Studebaker hobby of ours are indeed very fortunate to have Ed Reynolds in the business of supplying parts for our cars. I've dealt with Ed and his employees over the years since I bought my Lark in '91 and have been extremely pleased with the service.
Ed, if you can read this e-mail, please accept my thanks.
