  • Proper Wheel Cover Storage

I finally realized the perfect place to keep my Avanti wheel covers was staring right at me. Keeps 'em handy wherever I take the car, too.

You are not alone...I keep some of mine on my equipment trailer. Have them on my horse trailer as well.

Same here. Back in '70-'71 Bob Peterson and I both had Shasta travel trailers with 14-inch wheels. '58 wheelcovers worked real well on them even to the "S".

Where were you guys when I almost bought new wheels for my trailer because the silver paint was peeling, lol.

Great minds think alike, mine is just on a massive time delay.

In 1978, I was making a big loop of visits around the eastern half of the US and included the SDC International Convention. I was driving a new 1978 Oldsmobile 88 with '59-'60 Lark wheelcovers. You might say that I had a highly modified Studebaker at that meet <G>. I just realized that those wheelcovers were not even two decades old then.

Avanti wheelcovers on a trailer. Hmm. Aren't you worried they'll act like curbfeelers the way they stick out? Think I'd put something less valuable or more easily replaceable on there. The other trailers with '59-up covers--no worries.

About 2 years ago some one came through our shop parking lot one night and took all the Studebaker wheel covers off all the cars and trucks I had there but never touched any of the other ones in the lot, guess they figured they would sell good on e-bay, how many times have you seen them on e-bay as a rare item hard to find by some one that know nothing about the subject but because it's a Studebaker it must be rare? so far I have not found any that will fit my motor home..Bob
