Got my fix for the day. Thanks for posting still another great picture. I love those mid-fifties four door sedans.

If Studebakers could have sold at or slightly below Chevy's price they probably would have put the hurt on them. They never had the volume to get the price that low.

Yeah, price was the main impediment! Besides that, if you wanted, you could've had a V8![:0]

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Don't forget guys, those '53s & '54s were bashed by people saying that they weren't good looking compared to the Loewy coupes.
I've always liked the styling of those cars. In fact, I'm considering the purchase of a '53 Champion 4-door from a fellow club member.
I agree that, compared to the '53 Chevies and Fords, the Studebakers had them beat a mile in styling. The just couldn't complete with them in the marketplace. Go figure.

Thanks for sharing that one, ChampTrucking. I often forget just how attractive the 1953-55 sedans are, that is until I see one in picture or person. This is especially true when thay are allowed to stand on their own merits, as opposed to being viewed next to a C or K for comparison, and subsequently picked apart. That car sure does make a '53 Chev (or most any other 1953 car) look like a frump dumpling. LH

Roger, prove me wrong, but I don't think that comparison to C-Ks happened til years after these cars were built.
