      CUSTOMER APPRECIATION GIFT!

Being a loyal customer of Newman & Altman and later SASCO, with a customer order number in the low 9000's since 1968 totaling easily way over $20,000.00, got me a little surprise today!

I made a phone order with Denice, two weeks ago Weds. Sept. 2, and I was hoping I would be lucky enough to get my $2000.00 order in time. [8D]

As days went to weeks I was sure my big order was "in the mail", then on the 14, I realized I could check my Credit Card account and... "OH NO"! No charges.

One of the items I ordered was the (4) '55-'64 V-8 Head Gaskets, I was shorted on my May '09 order, whoever pulled them forgot the SASCO 770172 number, is a PAIR of 535982 thick gaskets, so I got (4) instead of (8).

So today I get a small UPS package, no note, no bill just (8) Head Gaskets, the (4) they owed me and (4) free nice McCord gaskets, but no $2000.00 order! [^] AND

My guess as to what happened is; all of you who are fortunate enough to be able to run down there those last few days, must have so overwhelmed them, that the internet, and even the phone orders never got pulled, because with their 5 day holiday coming up, there was precious little time left!

If my last order was honored, I should see a package by 6PM. If not....[V]

My last order just came in to Bellingham, WA today, so tomorrow should be any last orders to the west coast.
Although I ordered several thousand dollars worth, only about 1/2 was available, or made it.
Dennis did as much as he could with the time, help and parts left available.

Waiting until the last minute is never a good way to support our venders and I hope to help any new owner as well as other venders who help keep our Studebakers alive!

Many thanks to Dennis and all the venders who have done well for us.

Yeah, my last order was waiting in the garage when I went out for the paper thos morning. Thanks SASCO! I'm gonna miss you.[V]

Edit: I just went thru what was shipped. Oddly enough, a moulding that was "no stock" last time was there this time. I will note tho, that this may be the result of some "inside help" I was offered. At the same time, a moulding that I DID get two months ago, came back "no stock". These were the aluminum "butterknife" pieces of beltline trim for my '63 Cruiser. I ordered a second set with an eye towards the future or any unforseen "incidents".[B)] This stuff, unlike the stainless, would be tough - if not impossible - to restore. I'm just amazed that I could get WHOLE SETS of NOS stainless and aluminum beltline mouldings for a 46-year old car! Not to mention sets of NOS door upholstery panels![:0]

Ok, that's great, can we now get back to SASCO? I think it was the topic.

The difference is, I suggest, I don't threaten. Only Bob has the power to do that, and a lot more!

SO... has anyone in South Bend or anywhere heard how the S.B. Redevelopment Commission Meeting on Friday came out?

The City was supposed to buy back the lease on the SASCO Building 92 from the Teachers Credit Union inventory then, and maybe there would be an offer to sell the inventory?
