Curved oil filler tube on 56 2E truck motor?

I have never seen this before, the filler tube bends way low and over to the pass. side. Is that normal? someone mentioned it may have been of a supercharged engine. All the tubes i have ever seen are straight up and down.

I could see how if the truck was an E40 with air brakes maybe they would use the '57 Golden Hawk oil filler tube for Air Compressor clearance, but not in 1956! Or maybe Air Conditioning? These are REALLY stretches though!

The '57 GH tube is just like you describe, and has a 1/8" pipe fitting threaded hole at the bottom for the Oil Filter return line.

Probably someone just did that for aftermarket or brand "X" Air Cleaner clearance.
