Bob, who operates Joliet Studebaker, fell off the roof of his building yesterday. He fell about 12 feet and landed on his back. He was subsequently taken by ambulance to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet. He has a couple of broken vertebrae but otherwise came through pretty good. He will be out of commission some several weeks so if you have an order placed with him it will no doubt be delayed.

Holy Smoke, If I remember from my industrial days the LD-50 for falls was 12 Feet.

I did visit Bob in the hospital this morning. He is in good spirits and recovering. He apparently broke at least two vertebrae and bruised his lungs. He was joking then told me it hurt to laugh. They did an MRI yesterday and he was to get the results today.

Holy smoke! Bob must have fallen off the "low" section of his building, not the main block. But a twelve-foot fall is bad news in any case.

I talked to his wife, Marie, a couple of days ago. The plan then was for him to come home yesterday. Two cracked vertebrae, bruised lungs and some other assorted bruises. He was able to get up then and walk using a walker. Hopefully, he is home by now. He is using a plastic cast to hold his back straight.
