    I have to agree, Dick...

Mine is homage to a washed-up race car driver (Bob Andrews MotorSports car #50...

But the question still remains: WHY???[:I]

In my defense, I do have my name in my sig. line.......

Some of us have the cops looking for us!

I wondered what BAMS meant. Now I know.

I think it must have been that tie you were wearing standing next to your '53, Leonard

Well I don't have to worry about that anymore. After I got laid off from my job in 1991, I threw all my ties away!

Yep...I'm sure there is a logical (and good) explanation for every "screen name".

Other than Leonard's trouble with the law , what's the reason for using one?

I honestly can't think of a logical one... in fact I'd change mine, but I don't want to lose my post total

With me, it started when I first got on eBay in 1999. I first used my email address, and then eBay advised me against it. I wanted something short, so I picked lstude. On eBay you don't want anyone to know who you really are. Forum names tell a little something about you that your real name wouldn't. For instance, if your user name was "larkshine", we would immediately relate you to your cars!

I guess I am trying to explain something that I don't really understand myself. It is just what's happening these days!

So many sites ask you for a user name, so it it easier to have something short, in my opinion.
