  • Window regulator rebuilds

Anyone know who rebuilds Hawk window regulators? I remember someone in TW some time ago advertising this service.

    Thanks

SI offers rebuilt regulators with your core. I don't know if Ed does them in-house or sends them out.

There's also an aftermarket regulator, equipped with electric motor that supposedly bolts right in the C/K models and costs less than the original rebuilt.
There's also a switch, for said electric window, that operates from the original crank handle. Pretty nifty. Wish I had seen it before I put the regulators in mine.

Check the ball bearings that are associated with th K model door windows. If they are rusted and or worn out the window regulator will seem to be bad. jimmijim

Brad, who is it? And more to the point, do they make them for Larks??[]

I should have bookmarked the site when I saw it.[V] MY BAD[V] I've been doing a search now for maybe a half hour and coming up empty handed.[V] A pox on me![xx(]

I'm sure it was a link I gleaned from someone's mention on the Forum.
          Hopefully it will surface.
They were definitely C/K specific; didn't see application for Larks.
Maybe someone else here is privy to the site and can save my butt.

I did a search on our own Forum and copied these links provided by bradnree. They include some aftermarket kits that should work on Larks. One link also includes a switch that uses the crank handle as it's toggle.

Maybe this is the one you are referring to:?

Not sure it will fit a GT though?

I think that's the one. Price seems higher than I remember but, SI wants about $200 each for the original, with core exchange.

Thanks for all the links, Brad. Enough to get one thinking at least

Maybe nu-relics could be convinced to make a Lark specific one[8D]

If you haven't checked the the bearings that are associated with ease of window operation. Don't bother. Just trade your original regulators in as cores for remanufactured ones. Once re installed and adjustment has been done, if after testing, and you still may think they are not functiong properly, then check for worn bearings. Yeah thats what I would do. Ignore my other post. jimmijim

My brother just got a '62 that had been stored for a while (will post pictures later today). The window regulators are shot, especially the driver side which cranks but does nothing. YOu have to pull the window up. Anyway, I may have found some NOS or good used ones. Thanks for the help. The electric lifts are interesting!
