The October issue of Hot Rod Magazine has one page of their "Roddin' at Random" column devoted to Teds May accident with the Chicken Hawk at Muncie Dragway. It has a half page color photo of Ted still sitting in the car and being administered oxygen along with before and after photos and a short history of the car.

The editors were searching real, real hard to get pic's for this issue...
As bad as it looks, Ted deserves the press, and has all of our admiration for longevity and perserverence...
Still my hero...

Cool beans, Frank; thanks for the heads-up. My subscription copy isn't here yet, so I'll be on the lookout the next couple days.
(Maybe Hot Rod should do a "come-back follow-up" after Ted whups on 'em next month at The Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags!)BP

Hot Rod's piece is a tribute to him and the safety that he built into the Chicken Hawk. As someone said earlier Ted deserves the press and is a credit to the SDC and all those who race their cars. I'll definitely add this issue to my Studebaker magazine collection ASAP.sigpicSee you in the future as I write about our past
