Here are the corral cars I got pix of. They were behind the swap building along the street/alley with the outdoor vendors. Nice shady area for the most part.













There was also a rough 56J with skytop on a trailer that others have on their galleries I think.

I don't see any pictures of the black 1957 Golden Hawk being offered by Bob Peterson(?). Asking was $6,000. At first glance, that might seem a bit tall...but it isn't!

The car is pleasantly solid and complete. It appears to have its original engine, supercharger equipment all present and accounted for, and it is one of the few unrestored, factory stick overdrive 1957 Golden Hawks extant. Geeze, a set of wire caps that nice ought to be worth $500 by themselves!

I'm not in the market for a 1957 Golden Hawk, but consider this one a helluva good buy for someone who is. Just don't let the initial appearance deceive you; this is a rare case where the car is better than it looks, not the other way around. BP

I guess it was good that I couldn't make it to Cedar Rapids after all...now you don't have to put up with another forum topic about the guy drooling all over the pre-war coupes for sale in the car corral. Any body have the asking prices? Details?

Let's see, blue 53 on trailer was looking a little ragged here and there- price $22K[:0]

Basket-case truck: Something like $1200, or $2400 with trailer.

Bullet-nose: super-rough, or I might have bought it for the $600 price.

Another bullet-nose with rough paint but in good running condition, price over $8K[|)]

Ian's white R2 Powershift Avanti for $18K, another running R2 4spd. Avanti for "low teens".

I did look pretty closely at the 56J Skytop... needed everything but was pretty complete including Continental kit[8D], with nice frame and solid floors... luckily the price was reported to be in the $4-5K range, which saved me from getting myself into more trouble

That's about all I can remember for now...

Bob the 57 Golden hawk for sale there was not mine, but it did belong to Jimmy Facklam from Kansas, he left early and took it with him, but not before Ian Mackellar from Australia had a good look at it, when we got home on Monday he called Jimmy and made a deal for it, I will be picking it up In Oct. and brining it back to get ready the long trip to Australia, it is a really nice GH with every thing there and it is a stick shift car with overdrive, mine still is in my drive way getting ready for e-bay soon...Bob
