Can someone help me. I have a 1950 Champ 4-door. Working on the interior and I am at a loss as how to cover the back of the front bench seat. Can anyone provide pictures? I see no place for a panel and there are a few old staple holes but not enough to guide me into how the cloth was drawn across the frame. I did a search and found nothing on covering fixed bench seats.

I don't have a digital pic I can post, but reviewing my restoration pics I verified what I was thinking from memory.
Across the bottom of the back, even with the 'top' of the seat bottom, is a straight bar which is metal. The seat back cover is sewn to the side panels and then you slip the whole 'bag' down over the frame and padding. I think the bottom tuck is attached by hog rings up and inside of that straight bar. With the frame disassembled, and upsidedown for the process, it is not hard to do. Just lots of tucking and straightening as you go.

Here's some pics of the front seat of my '50 two door which still has the original interior in it. I know the front seat is different in a 4 door but hopefully these will help you out a little. Good luck....
