First thing that comes to mind is a song from the fifties.

      "What is love?
Five feet of temper and a pony tail.
      The cutest pony tail,
that waves with a wiggle when she walks."

      Sorry, Dwain.
Now, back to our previous topic.

Bob, you should track her down and invite her to the Truck Farmer's dinner!

                          This picture brings back memories!
In the late seventies and early eighties my mother had one of these teletype machines! (She lost her hearing due to an accident when she was twenty one, in '52. It was the only way she could use the phone!) Noisy, it used to scare the cat when she turned it on!
She now has a modern TDD, quiet and the size of a computer keyboard.
                          It ain't the same!

Studebakers were made to drive! (Besides, they don't get lost as easy in the Wal-Mart parking lot!)

FYI the specific car production order on the teletype machine in the photo was a 1952 Commander Land Cruiser with a destination of Lake Wales, Florida. The order number was 39984-2 and the car was painted Concord Blue. No serial number is shown since the body had yet to be mated to a frame. If you own a Concord Blue '52 Land Cruiser this may be your car!

By the way, I have the original 8 X 10 glossy. For everything you ever wanted to know about Studebaker production orders see Turning Wheels for April 2001 pages 28-30.
