  • 62 Lark headlight/turn light modification

I'm doing a little modification to the nose of my 62 Lark, I'm ditching the front bumper and converting it to single headlights by using parts from a 61 Lark and doing a bit of welding, cutting and assorted hammering.

If you think that's odd I grafted the tail of a 64 Challenger to my 62 hardtop nearly 20 years ago. Someday it will grace the modified column in turning wheels

With the removal of the duals from the 62 nose the marker/turn lights go too. Anyone have any ideas of what other marker light I could modify to fit in the corners of the opening below the grille. I've noticed the marker lights on the nose of a Chrysler 300 but I'm afraid my slim budget cannot afford a pair of them.

    Any ideas?

    Jeff T.

Jeff, why go to that much work? Just remove the face section of your car and replace it with a '61 single. You have the mountings for your turn signals and the headlamp buckets! Half the work and twice the fun! In fact, I know just where you can get one. Gustafson's Auto Wrecking in Redding CA has one already off the vehicle. If he doesn't remember, just tell him I said it's in the back of the Champ. They can be reached at: 530-241-4246.

    Rotsa ruck!

A '61 Lark with the standard Deluxe (I know that sounds weird, but optional on the Deluxe was dual headlights.) nose has nice round park/turn lights next to the headlights. Why not just stick with those?

You are both right. It would be simpler to switch nose plates. Sometimes my plans get too elaborate for my own good and I need a good splash of cold water to return to reality. I hope the gentleman in Redding is open on Saturdays and he ships parts because I am in Nebraska.

but I do like the 62 grille

I'm pretty sure SASCO still has those panels NOS- they weren't "hot" items.
