  • LOOKING FOR HUBCAPS

Simply put, I want a set of nice caps with the "baby moon" look with or without the word Studebaker on them which will attach to the retaining clips on my OE wheels on my 1950 Champion.

If they will fit, I would be interested in the kind that are listed on page 58 of SI as being for the 47-49 Commander 800263 but not at $75 each, though they may be worth that to some.

I would be interested in the after market kind that we used to call baby moons, as long as they will clip securely onto my wheels. I have looked on the internet but they are all just as expensive as the "real Studebaker" caps on page 58 of SI.

I know that I can call and find out but if someone can tell me, it will save time: Are the 529376 caps listed on page 58 for the late 1950 painted, chrome, or stainless?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Jimmie, 800263 will not fit your 4 hole OE wheels. The hubcap diameter is too big. 529376 were chrome last time I checked, which was 3 years ago.

        Jimmie...
Did you try Wheel Vintiques, or Stockton Wheel?

Anne, he says they are 8 inch and my 50 calls for 10 inch the best I can tell. So, I doubt they would fit the 49 wheels either.

I think you will find that those aftermarket baby moons only fit the "popular old cars": Ford, Chev. or the new wheels that also do not fit Studes. especially not the 4 lug narrow little Champion wheels.

As you can see on the picture of my red 50 when I owned it before, it had the aftermarket baby moons on it in 1992. Do not know if they are available now or not.
