The PO included this one with my car. It's from a dealer that was located about 15 miles from me - don't know how he got it, since the car was sold in San Francisco!

Midge came with a license plate frame from Ranchero Motors, North Hollywood. Hope i can save it with out breaking it. One side is bent out in the middle. But no topper.

My front bumper is off at the moment, so I'll have to show my South Dakota and Studebaker pride on my office door for now.

Incredibly I don't have a photo of it (well, not a closeup anyway); but the licence frame on Betty the Lark says HAMILTON-The Steel City. In a way it's a souvenir of my first flirtation with Stude ownership, seven or eight years ago: I'd seen a 60 Lark VI 4dr, very nicely restored, at a cruise and for sale inexpensively...badly wanted to buy it, but couldn't, and failed to talk a friend into it either! It had been owned by a Hamilton SDCer whose nephew eventually acquired it, and the nephew used it as a community "booster" (it was a Hamilton car), displaying it at festivals, and selling these Steel City plate frames, one of which I bought. Years later it became very logical to put the frame on my own Lark, which is also a Hamilton car.

John/Tracy--my perennial licence frame suggestion is perfect for you, now that George the President has joined your family: you've seen "My Other Car Is A Studebaker"; try this out on your C-cab pickup..."My Other Studebaker Is A Car"!

Steve, we like your suggestion for the license frame for the truck! Unfortunately, it's getting really difficult to find license frames here in Arizona that are legal to use. As of January, we can get fined if the word "Arizona" at the top of the license plate is covered up in any way. We may have to stick with the toppers from now on.

Well, I just bid on this one...

It's not Studebaker related, as this was a Chevrolet dealer in Detroit. My mom bought her first new car there in January of '71 (a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Greenbriar station wagon). This was probably from the early '50's, but it's just a family reminder.

These frames aren't that rare but I doubt there are many on these cars.

I too have Frost & French, along with the corresponding bill of sale. Since the transaction took place in 1970, the small banner at the top reads "Los Angeles" instead of "Studebaker."

A lot of people saw the license brackets on my BABY in South Bend in 2007. the story on them is that I Sold Studebakers at Larry Wright motors in Monrovia CA in 1955. Put a heck of a lot of them on cars in stock, but never kept any for myself. Just after I bought BABY these turned up on ebay. I had been looking for a set for 52 years. Needless to say they became mine. They had been on the wall of a garage in South Pasadena CA since new. BABY and I love them.

And I spent all winter walking around there hoping for a good yard sale with those! Did you ever find one with a Pasadena dealer on it, Dick?

No LLoyd Pearson Studebaker frames at all. Sorry Dave.

John, that's a beautiful Mobil horse! After the beauties displayed here, I'm kinda embarrassed to show Ed's frame. The DMV required that I remove the '63 plates he was wearing as they are dis-allowed in the YOM programme here in California. Unfortuneately, the old frame had deteriorated so badly that when it separated from the plate it broke up into a number of pieces. I glued the pieces onto the new plate just for giggles and sentimental fun:

Ron, I want your frame when you are done with it. I'm pretty sure my Daytona came out of Capitol Studebaker.
